Just purchased a newer Suburban and had to replace the electical plugs on both boats and upgraded the recieving plug on the burb. (Four round plug)My problem is, everything works fine on the boat trailer and burb until I put the trailer on the truck hitch, I then blow a fuse in the truck. Tail lights are gone. I'm guessing it's a problem with my ground wire, question is boat plug or truck plug. I'm getting frustrated! Also noticed ground wire on the truck is thicker than the others and have to shave it slightly to get it into the plug clamp. Suggestions

Sounds to me like you have the +12 going into the ground on the trailer, and the ground going to +12 on the trailer. All works OK till you put the trailer on the ball, then the rig has a short to ground through the trailer and the fuse pops.
