Anyone done it? How does it perform vs Gluv-it?
Looks like it'd be durable and last a long time.

If you are talking about the very bottom where the Gluv-it/Coat-it goes. I wouldnt do it personally, the stuff is non-slide, meaning that it'll probably not let your boat slide over the rocks but rather stick to them even more. and it is kind of heavy. If you are talking about where your feet go while in the boat, it might work okay, seems to heavy to put in a DB though. Just my opion though.

Absolutely not. I have this stuff in the flooring of my boat and nothing will slide on it. It is great for a surface to walk on non skid but just the opposite of what you want for a surface for the bottom of a drift boat. You want a slick surface so you don't hang on any rocks. A thin sheet of UHMW plastic would be the way to go in my opinion.

I'm not sure but what if you had the shop (rhino liner or Line X or other) take the grit off ...

Even without the grit, the stuff sticks like crazy. Ask an OSP officer in Newport what the stuff is like. I remember them stuck on the Siletz a couple of years back after they coated the bottom of their boat.

I have it on my boat and it works great. It actually makes the boat move easier in the water. If it was as sticky as people think then you would get big gouges in your pickup bed. The shops that apply the stuff can mix it to be harder or softer as required.

Check out River Wolf Drift Boats web site. They are doing UHMW applications on Drift Boats, in a 1/8" thick sheet that is applied with a polymer resin, and no weld washers. It only adds 19# of weight and the stuff is super slippery. I think they charge $595 but not sure. I know it will be on my new River Wolf for sure. I will be ordering in the next week or two, so I will ask on the price.

I been using Line-X on the bottom of my boats for the last couple of years, no problems......the guys apply it very smooth and it slides over rocks and debris very well, best investment thus far for my boats....good luck!!
