A shiny surface stays clean longer. It has less pores to catch colored particles and makes it hard to clean. I would make it shiny if it were mine. ood luck.

Your putting this on the bottom of a driftboat right? who cares if its shiney, clean, or porous??? I don't get it..as long as it slides over rocks..right?

On the bottom of a drift boat!? You are right--who cares!
I thought he was thinking about not gel-coating fiberglass on his boat. My bad, Hunt2much.

It is on the bottom of a drifter, and no I could care less if its shiny. The Gluv-it can advised a coat over the top of it when dry and I just didnt understand why or if it mattered. Guess not from the responses

Everything I read says the product is an epoxy sealer, not a top coat. It specifically says to topcoat to reduce UV deterioration. Even on the bottom of a driftboat, unless it's never out of the water, UV will interact and breakdown unprotected epoxy. I would roll and tip a few light coats of polyurethane over the gluvit. Your boat will look better and you will be protecting your investment.
