Certain songs have such a way of bringing refreshing and peace into our lives. Here is one of my favorite worship songs to meditate on when I am on the water. What's yours? :flowered:
The River
To the river I am going, bringing sins I cannot bear
Come and cleanse me, come forgive me
Lord I need to meet you there
In these waters, healing mercy flows with freedom from despair
I am going, to that river
Lord I need to meet you there
Precious Jesus, I am ready to surrender every care
Take my hand now, lead me closer
Lord I need to meet you there

Good one! There are so many wonderful songs aren’t there. At present if I was going to narrow it down to one it would be the contemporary worship song “All in All”. One particular part moves me to respond in worship like no other part of the song especially during this time of Lent.
“Taking my sin, my cross, my shame
Raising again I bless your name
You are my all in all.”
If we only knew how much He has done for us; I’m playing the song on my computer right now.

That was my favorite last week. LOL...
"Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name..."
Yep, that's a good one!
"You are my All in All" is one song that brings me to my knees like no other.
"When I fall down, you pick me up
When I run dry, you fill my cup
You are my all in all."

"We will gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river..." seems to come from Ezekiel's vision of God's throne and the ever-deepening water. It is funny what songs come to mind when out on the river and where one's heart goes. Hopefully not to the worries of this world, but the All Sufficient One. One of my favorite prayers is "Lord, if you are pleased to do so today, let us enjoy this day ...and maybe a fish, too".

It has to be "I Surrender All".
This is the song that's played in our church as we share in The Lord's Supper each Sunday. To watch our brothers and sisters approach the Lord's table in pairs to partake of His body and blood while this beautiful music is playing is just tear-jerking. I didn't remember all four verses but had a copy of them. Just consider yourselves lucky that this is the internet and you don't have to listen to my voice singing them!
All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live.
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me Jesus, take me now.
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
This is one for fishing, driving, working, or any old time!

My favorite part of church is definitely worship! I'm in the choir and worship team at my church and my absolute favorite is singing "Jesus lover of my soul" there are so many good ones though. It really is hard to pick a favorite. We sang a new one last sunday that was really good but now I can't remember the title of it. oh...well it will come to me.
Great topic!

When out fishing, I can't help but be overwhelmed by God's creation, that stimulates me to praise. On each trip the worship may be different, it may be on the granduer of His creation or more likely on what it represents(His majesty and greatness, His love, etc). You can imagine the songs that come to mind when you are blown away by His greatness!
Good topic.

Here is another one that to me is really powerful:
Jesus, All For Jesus
Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.
Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into Your hands.
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into Your hands.
For it's only in Your will that I am free,
For it's only in Your will that I am free,
Jesus, all for Jesus,
All I am and have and ever hope to be.
One other song that I love to sing that I learnd when I sang in the choir --- It is well with my soul --- after hearing who wrote this song and under what dificulties it was written makes me love it even more.
Songs mean more to a person when He/She knows what circomestances inspired the song. So many have been under great hardships.

That's a great song, and the story behind it makes it even more special.
"Amazing Grace" is another song with an incredible story behind it. The music was from an African spiritual which John Newton most likely heard being sung by one of the captives on his slave trading ship. Interestingly, my understanding is that the whole song can be played on just the "black" keys of a piano.

LOL. "Nearer My God to Thee" is usually playing through my mind when my husband is driving. He claims his taxes paid for both sides of the road, and, gosh darnit, he's going to make sure he gets his money's worth!

Any body remember "I got a river of life"?
I've got a river of life flowing out of me!
Makes the lame to walk, and the blind to see;
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free!
I've got a river of life flowing out of me!
Spring up, O well, within my soul!
Spring up, O well, and make me whole!
Spring up, O well, and give to me
That life abundantly.

I would have to say "Amazing Grace" I find myself singing it out loud often. It can get a few looks, but that's ok. I think that song has stuck with me so deeply through the years, going back to when i was a child, and loosing my first family member that meant so much too me. The song was played at his(My Grandfathers) funeral, and I guess with my outdoor memmories with him as a child, The song just tends to come out as im outdoors. :angel1:

Yes I agree with you about Amazing Grace it has a great story behind it also. It is another one of my favorites.

Mine would definately be "Dive" by Steven Curtis Chapman
"The long awaited rains
Have fallen hard upon the thirsty ground
And carved their way to where
The wild and rushing river can be found
And like the rains
I have been carried here to where the river flows yeah
My heart is racing and my knees are weak
As I walk to the edge
I know there is no turning back
Once my feet have left the ledge
And in the rush I hear a voice
That’s telling me it’s time to take the leap of faith
So here I go"

I always end up singing I have decided to follow Jesus or I've got a river of life. Kids at church love that one. We have to play it every service for them.

It was time to resurrect this super uplifting thread before it disappeared into the back pages. This song is one of the most popular at our early, contemporary service. Every time it's sung the congregation just comes alive and everybody joins in...young and old. Great moving lyrics and melody. Thank you Father for the gift of Your beloved Son and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. :throb:
"The Power of Your Love"
Lord I come to you
Let my heart be changed, renewed
Flowing from the grace
That I've found in You
Lord I've come to know
The weakenesses I see in me
Will be stripped away
By the power of Your love
~chorus~
Hold me close Let Your love surround me
Bring me near
Draw me to Your side
And as I wait
I'll rise up like the eagle
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love
.......
Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love
As You live in me
Lord renew my mind
As Your will unfolds in my life
In living every day
By the power of Your love
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads me on
In the power of Your love

You might not call it a worship song but "This is the day" always strikes a chord with me. My daughter sang it at Portland Christian Elementary. Then when we started to sing it at church we'd always smile at her and she'd get embarrassed and refuse to sing. Now when she's up serving we smile at her and she looks away. It's actually kinda cute. Some days I can't sing it though as I start to tear up....then I'm the one looking away. Where does the time go?
