View Full Version : Please pray for BillH

Today, he got a call back from a test he had yesterday.
"I would like Bill to come in to the office, as soon as he can."
I'm just panicked. I guess I, too, need prayers!
But, please, pray for Bill. If you know him, please don't mention it until he does. He does not know I am asking for prayer. I hope I'm not out of place, but I couldn't help myself.

Thank you. Turns out we'll both need it.
They found a 2 cm mass.
A surgeon will check it out next Wednesday, and probably send him directly to St. Vincent for a biopsy. They will determine then and there, and if so, probably just proceed into surgery to remove part of his lung. The doc says there is a 2 percent chance it is not cancer. :depressed:
They say he's lucky, that it's small, and that he caught it early.
It's in his lung.
Man, what a ride these last two years have been. I'm just swimming. I can't think straight. It's a "I'll take care of you and then you take care of me" see-saw.
I haven't been feeling good, and I hope ifish hangs in there. It's just the last thing I need to worry about, right now. I'm going to be taking care of my family.
Thank you so much, for your prayers.
Your privacy is appreciated. I sure wouldn't want to see this on the main board, anytime soon.

It's such a weird feeling! I am trying so hard to smile, stay cheery, but I just want to cry!

Bill is upset, of all things... about not being able to till the garden!
I told him I could hire someone and he just about flipped.
He's also worried about mowing. I told him the same, hire it out. He said, "But they'll run over my daffodils!"
Argh. :depressed:

You, Bill and the family have my prayers, but ahh, I gotta go with Bill on this one, why no gardening?
Gene Stalling here in Scappose won't run over your daffodils with his Kabota, that's who we use for tractor work.
Need some seeds?, I think I can swing a deal (or I will cut off the honey doos).
We have watermelon that will produce around here if you can discurage the racoons.
Keep hanging in there, you guys deserve a break.
Prayers for comfort and health to you guys.
Good luck.

I offer my sincere prayer for a very easy and completely successful procedure tomorrow. My daughter has a book called Franklin goes to the Hospital. Bill was really edgy when I first visited with him, as he came out of anethsesia. Man, that's hard to watch someone in a lot of pain. :depressed: Now, I know how others felt, when I went through that.
He had tubes, everywhere, and just kiept saying "hurt"... :depressed:
They were just getting the pain under control, and sure enough, when I went back in an hour, he was so much better.
Now, he just keeps saying, "I feel really fuzzy." Well, yeah, Bill! You have a 8 inch cut in your side, and your ribs were pulled apart, so they have you on just a bit of fuzzy drugs!
Anyhow, I am so tired. I got less than 3 hours of restless sleep, and I've been at the hospital since 4:30 this morning! I'm going back with his brother at 5:30.
Lots of napping on the couches!
I won't be able to answer your private messages. I have read a few, but won't be able to get back to you till early next week, probably.
Thank you for your patience, prayers and kind thoughts! We are winning this one!

Jen-it appears that this has played out just as we had hoped since you broke the news. :applause:
anyway- please, please take care of yourself as I know how badly this wears on a person. you'll need your strength as he prepares to come home, & please don't hesitate to take those who have offered up on their offers. It has been our experience that we tend to hold back & wait for the request of those in need, thinking they will ask for what is needed, but it is also SO hard to know what might be needed if you are afraid or uncomfortable asking. So please do!! ASK AWAY & we are happy to help where we could.

Hurt, Hurt for a few weeks, or Fuzzy, fuzzy. I vote for the fuzzy fuzzy. There will be plenty of aches and pain getting up to speed later this spring.
You probably want to wait a few weeks to break ground in the garden or you will have a million weed spouts to knock down before planting
Jen you need to be rested, you have a fine hospital staff to watch over Bill for now. Thank God he got himself checked out for no good reason at all. I think that would qualify as a godsend. Way to listen to that little voice.
There are springers here in the channel through June, see ya.

He's having a rough day.
I'm going shopping for flowers, today.
He's all excited about seeing the swallows that showed up today, and the cherry tree, which is starting in bloom!
I'm going to go get my spring flowers, and have this place all planted in flowers when he gets back.
I'm going to have some by his bed, and outside of his window, so he can enjoy them!
I also hope to have the back deck all decked out in spring flowers, so that if we have a sunny day I can wheel him out to enjoy them!

Thank you! Your prayers are working.
Dudley Nelson brought him home, today.
I had all the planters planted in pretty spring flowers. My son brought all the lawn furniture out and washed it, and we put it on the deck.
I put flowers where his ashtray used to go! They look so much prettier and the house smells lovely.
Now... to wash the walls.... I think I'll hire that out, as we have two story open beam walls!
He hurts, but he is so glad to be home. He got to feed his beloved chickens, talk to his friends and eat a wonderful roast beef dinner with his favorite veggies.
He's really tired, now and on his pain meds.
You know, it's funny. I think God has a real sense of humor.
I was so tired last week that I prayed to be put in an assisted living home, and I meant it!
So, what did God do? He made me work in one!!! Funny, God! Funny!

Bill's cancer is an early lung adenocarcinoma.
Man, it's hard to understand all the garden varieties.
Anyhow, they are very certain that they got it all.
He's not doing so well. He's tired and frustrated that he's not well yet. Makes me kind of giggle. He says he feels like there are bars on the windows, prohibiting him from going down to the river.
I said to him, "Bill, do you recall when you had to drive me down there, and even then I couldn't get out of the truck to enjoy it?"
I think we both know what it's like! But, at least he can walk down there. Just slowly!
Anyhow, thank you all for your prayers and please be with him as he recovers.
