Does anyone have anything to report about either of these two fisheries. My friend and I are heading out there tommorow afternoon. Any rigging, technique suggestions are appreciated http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gifI was also wondering if we were choosing the right method by fishing the outgoing tide?

Since there isn't a reply yet, I will try to help some. I haven't been fishing at those spots so I can't give you an accurate report. However, there are plenty of fish on up thru the lower Col. already and they seem to be biting better than expected given the relatively high water temps. The reports I've read indicate fishing a little deeper water than usual (35' to 45' instead of 20' to 30') and using a little longer lead dropper to anchor fish your spoons, spinners, & flatfish (about 4' instead of 2 1/2'). There will be fish at the locations you mentioned. Good luck. - RT
RT or anyone;
Can you fish the mouth of the Kalama from a drift boat?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.A friend of mine fished the kalama bar for 7 hrs yesterday and never saw a fish caught not in the boats nor off the shore, but I talked to a fish checker in camas this
afternoon and he heard they did well there today ???.The fishing out in front of washougal was really slow again today.Had a buddy anchor along side of me(after I told him to)and hooked a 25lb salmon anout 20 min. after anchoring there.I tried to get him to pay me guide fees for telling him where to anchor but he ingored me ???I then told him it would be a nice Gesture if he gave me the eggs,HE LAUGHED AT ME !!! I just don't understand ????? http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif how could he even think I was kidding after telling him exactly where to anchor.Oh Well .Good luck go gettem http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bob,
If you invited me to anchor next to you and I boated a 25 pounder: I would give you all the eggs, half the fish, take you to a nice dinner, and be your friend for life. Last but not least I would spend all my waking hours figuring and planning new fishing adventures to repay your kindness....which didn't go unnoticed.

The mouth of the Lewis down river to marker 72 is closed for salmon fishing, it is probally about a 1 mile, maybe 1.5 mile stretch from the mounth downriver. you can still fish for steelhead, but you have to release any salmon you catch

I fished the mouth of the Kalama from a driftboat last Sunday. My girlfriend got a chinook on a spinner and a few other boats had fish on wobblers. Quite a few steelhead were hooked on flatfish by boats fishing slightly shallower water.
