View Full Version : got some bad news about our newborn

I posted a pic of our newborn son about a month ago, well we just found out he has atrial septal ostium secundum defect. Translation is that he has a hole in his heart between the top two chambers. The mom and i are pretty freeked out as expected, the doctor told us it is going to be heart surgery and we are really worried :whazzup:. The more research i do on this shows that it happens more then a person would think. Please keep us in your prayers, and thank you in advance. Anybody on ifish here or have any experience with this? And here is a pic of our son.

I too was born with a hole in my heart. It grew closed on it own and I am sure it was not this serious.

what a beautiful baby boy! Lord, please allow the surgery to be successful and take care of this family. I worked with a lady that had a daughter with this. She must be about 20 by now and from what I understood, she is fine. God Bless

Our pastor youngest had a heart defect, not sure if this is the same defect but it was amazing how quickly those little buggers recoop after surgery.
Let us know the date of the surgery so we can be right on top of it withour prayers.

Fish-rong...My heart goes out to you, Our oldest Son had Tatroligy of Fallot..when he was 6 mo old when he had surgery it lasted 6 hours...he was reversal of your son he had a hole in his lower chambers which was corrected by inserting a tefflon patch.
Believe me in trying times like these there is nothing or nobody to turn to except the Lord. Our Son is 36 now and has 3 kids. He is doing fine.
Tell your wife expecally, she will get our prayers I know from first hand that, mommys hurt a little deeper in times like these....Lord Bless

Hopefully you are talking to the folks at Dornbeckers, my best fishing buddy's daughter was born with a defective heart valve and after 4 sugeries she is doing fine.
She is now 5 years old and full of spunk.
I will pray for you!
