Just spoke to WDFD in Vanc. to clarify when and where the gillnets are and for how long.
I was told:
1. There is about a 5400-5500 fish allocation for the gn.
2. Monday night they caught 2600 fish.
3. The numbers from last night are not in yet.
4. Depending on how well they did last night they may go in again tonight from 8pm to 6am Thurs. morning.
5. The netting is in the 2s area which is from I205 to Beacon rock, with the exception of an area around the Camas/Washougal area.
6. Concerning future gn season, due to the concern for the tule stock, the person I spoke to said they are trying to limit or not have a gn season that would intercept these fish. In any event, he said at this time there is no planned season in the near future (month or so is what we discussed)
Hope this helps. Remember that this is just a summary and don't pick on the words I used http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif.
Giz....OH yea, my pick for who wins in the survivor game will be the carp, followed by northerpikeminnow, then the pea nose chub and finally the walleye. They have already eleminated the strong and benefical runs (sockeye, native steelhead, chinook and silver.)
