Can anyone tell me what's happening on the Siletz? Buddy has a house in Lincoln City. If there are fish, I'm gone!!!!!TIGHT LINES and GOOD FISHING!!!

I went down to Siletz tidewater the weekend before last to see what the story was with the early chinook. Apparently, it is either some sort of summer run or just early fall fish. Either way, they are catching fish by Coyote Rock. When I was there they had about thirty or so to date on the board with the largest being 47lbs. Most of them were caught trolling kwikfish wrapped with sardine. As far as the upper river, a friend of mine scouted for steelies two weeks ago and only spotted one. I'm sure there are more up there, but the fishing is going to be real tough until the first fall rains come. Hope this info helps.
