I fished out of chinook landing off of the lower section of Government Island, had three take-downs and had one on for a few until I finally hooked and boated a 28lber, a nice chrome fish. Thanks to the guys who responded to my post last week on techniques etc. for this area it really paid off today.P.S. Fished in 30ft.water with 5ft lead dropper and a 4ft leader with a Clancy wobbler.....man do I love the Northwest....

Wow that sounds like some great fishing! My uncle wants me to take him salmon fishing cause he doesnt go much and he lives in gresham which is pretty close to chinook landing and I was wondering if you could please me what you used to catch the salmon and how your setup was? Thanks and any advice will be helpfull. Good fishing.

hey fishon! I was fishing in 29 feet of water about a quarter mile up river from the big hog line in front of chinook landing boat ramp. My lure I was using was regular silver alvin with a piece of metalic green tape on one side and a piece of flame red tape on the other (about 3/4" circle in the middle), with a 66" dropper line and 30" leader. also I heard the silver/copper alvin was working good to.
