This just in from Matt Hunter:
Thought I should drop you a note about the B-10 catch. I do the Catch and Effort estimates for
Oregon and receive the Washington data daily. Through August 20th here is the skinny.
There have been about 3200 chinook caught from the 9000 fish quota. If this explodes like it
could, the fishery for chinook could end this week. There is a conference call this Wednesday
for a check point evaluation.
There have been about 6600 coho caught and the success rate should only get better. The
anticipated catch for the B-10 fishery is 60,000!
As of August 20th the success rate for chinook was .11 fish per angler and for coho .22 fish
per angler. This includes some good days ( up to .8 fish per angler) and some bad ( as low as
.08 fish per angler).
Also you might want to pass it along for those who don't know, the B-10 fishery is from the
buoy to the imaginary line from Tongue Point to Rocky Point.
Hope this helps. Quote me if you like since none of this is the least bit confidential.
Contact me any time you have questions.
Thanks,
Matt Hunter
