I scanned in some of the earlier trip photos. There was snow very late this year so it made for some pretty views and some friendly wildlife.

Smilesforu! Can you help me post some pics? I went back in time to the late June thread and followed the directions. I hate to admit to guppy status on the web but there it is. The .jpg is on photopoint.com and I used the URL code but the dang thing won't display............ Help! The bend is your friend!

Thanks Marty, Jen is trying to help too. At Photopoint.com the URL is http://albums.photopoint.com/j/albumindex?u=1075457&a=7942009
Jen tried putting it on ifish but it doesn't work from there either. She put it at http://www.ifish.net/fish.jpg ..... What gives Marty? The instructions in the late June thread were pretty clear and I believe I followed them exactly. I think I'm about to learn something and thats a beautiful thing! The bend is your friend!

Ramstrong! You da man! Nice fishies bro. As they say in China 'Give me a fish and I eat for a day, teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime!' How did you do that? The bend is your friend!

I think it was your hosting. I just transferred the picture to a yahoo account and then referenced them from there. Actually the one I like is give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he forgets about eating. Those were the product of a trip to the salmon river 2 years ago. Hope they get in there thick this year. It's not as easy to recon now that I'm not living in Newberg anymore. Oh well Sep 1st I'm on the Clack like white on rice. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, Photopoint URLs will work here.
Here what I posted back in June:

Posting pictures: when you go to write or
reply to a message, you will notice that
on the left hand side, it says HTML is
OFF, and UBB Code is ON. That means you
need to use the UBB code. If you start a
free account at Photopoint.com, you can
e-mail your pics to them. You then get
the URL for your pic, and when you post
to the BB, put in "" then the URL
for the image, then . Do not use
spaces. I enclosed the codes in quotation
marks, because I wasn't sure if they'd
show up if I didn't. Don't use the
quotation marks when you post an image.
Also, don't forget the http//: in the URL
for the image. Then you have a nice
picture posted to the BB. You can get the
UBB codes for lots of things by clicking
on the faq

Here is an image from Photopoint posted using the UBB codes.

Jen, you're a genius. I have nothing but respect and admiration for someone who solves a puzzle just because it is there. Now we have an abundance of Halibut on Ifish. I'll see about scanning some other favorite pics and go for the unassisted post. Thanx girl! The bend is your friend!

First you must have it show up on a website or webpage. Then you right click on the picture and click properties. This will bring up the url of the picture. I copy the url from this location. Then just enclose it in the

picture url I just paste here between img tags

I added a space after img so it wouldn't try to find the wrong link.

The url of the image you posted above doesn't look right. This is the url according to the properties of the pic.
http://if.yimg.com/f/e1634a67/h/708c52af/little+brownie.jpg

The host where you have the pictures does not let you post onto other sites. So you need to move the picture to a different post to make it show up here.

You didn't go out for Halibut in that little boat did you? http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Sounds a little scary! How long is that boat anyway? http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nice Fish

Ok this is what I see you did wrong.

This is the address you need between the img tags http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1080002&a=7974835&p=26752728&Sequence=0

You tried to post the page address between the img tags. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1080002&a=7974835

You actually need the image address instead, which I listed above.

To get the image address go to the image so it is what you want to see on the site. Then right click on the image and select properties from the drop down list. This will then bring up a screen that shows the picture address. Then use your mouse to highlight the address..While still highlighted right clik on the highlighted address and choose copy from the list. NOW go to the ifish bb and put this address in between the img tags with no spaces before or after the address.

Mr Fish,
The Halibut pics aren't mine, that's Pilar and Krystalflash. Pilar was having difficulty posting, so I tried to help him out. If I remember correctly from previous posts Pilar's boat is 19 feet. I think he's got a lot of time on the water though, and he only go's when it's safe. I'm also sure he keeps posted up to the minute with NOAA. They have a LOT of info on their site that can make a trip safe, or cancel a not so safe one.

Marty,

YOU THE MAN !!!!

Thanks for the help, one of these days I'll get it!

That picture came from the Nushagak this season, fish in the middle is 40 pounds exactly.

Mr. Fisherman, Yeah it is scary! The key is to know your limitations. The limitations on my 19' boat are many. The weather has to be 4-0 and the boat has to run good. We make these trips in groups of 2 or 3 boats. We use the hell out of the bouy web sites, Infrared maps of the ocean (recently discovered, thanx ifishers!) and NOAA weather forecasts. There is no reason to be afraid of the ocean if you use all of the tools available to the modern fisherman. Just learn and know your limits.

It is far more hazardous (my opinion, sorry)to run the Columbia Bar and play in that water than it is to run out of Newport to the reefs or the Chicken Ranch. The bar at Newport is a piece of cake compared to some others. Watch out for the afternoon winds! There is no miles of mudflats to get stuck on or large ships to run your @ss over. The distance from Warrenton to the deep water SW of the sparkplug (CR Buoy) is about the same as it is from Newport to the Chicken Ranch.

By the way, a flat ocean looks exactly the same 34 miles out as it does near the dinner bell. The water is a little warmer and bluer and the air a little cleaner, but it's exactly the same.

Think about this the next time you run out to the rockpile from Newport. Thanks for the assist Ramstrong. The bend is your friend!
