Thanks Dab, and know there is no bubble to burst to begin with. Not sure where that came from??
Yes only GOD knows where a persons true heart lies. But there are some things that can stop us from receiving healing like unforgiveness towards others. Which the book explains and is fully based on scripture.
Don't knock the book with out actually reading it first and knowing whats in it. I'm also not the best book reporter which is why I put a link up.
I certainly did not mean to rub anyone the wrong way by recomending a great book.

God does not do bad things to teach people spiritual lessons.
God did not create evil.
God did not bring sin, disease, or poverty into the world.
God does not want us to suffer sickness, disease, or poverty.
We don’t thank God for bad things the devil does.
God has provided a way of escape for the Christian.
Thank's for the book recommendation MayFly. I haven't read the book but in my humble opinion don't see any conflict between the above quotes and God's will.
I've personally been fighting disease through prayer, along with the prayers of family, friends, and church members. I'm going to be tapered off the heavy medication I've been on next month due to serious side effects, and see what the results will be.
My life and health will be determined by our Savior.

I am reading Finding God in the Questions by: Dr. Timothy Johnson
It was given to me because I have a very serious lung condition and I'm on a spiritual path of my own right now.
Your book sounds very much like something I'd like to read, I think our God is a Generous and Loving God! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v467/WildHen/Signatures/godislove.gif

MAYFLY....I have read many books along this order some are OK others are just plain Trash. Now I say this out of Love, not out of knocking anything you have read. When our oldest Son had a serious heart problem when he was 6 mo old I did some very extencive reading on healing and suffering, He had a 40% chance of living.
He servived the surgery and he is 36 and has a family an is doing well, He is in the ministry, and has had a few set backs along the way.
What I have learned along the way is I have taken every thing in prospective with health and what not. Christ was a suffering servant. I have always ask my self Why do Christians suffer? Why would a loving God allow anyone to suffer? and many times we do cry out..."Lord dont you know that the one who loves you is hurting?".
Psalm 119:67 says to the believer and unbeliever "before I was afflicted I went astray"... becuse God uses suffering to draw the unbeliever to himself. When we suffer it reminds us of our mortality. Many Christians have found that they are closest to God while undergoing some sort of suffering. In verse 75 it says "in faithfulness you have afflicted me" we can be sure that the Lord will do those things that are ultimately good and correct.
Paul the Apostle suffered greatly in his life and yet he could say. "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perserverance, charecter, and charecter hope." and perservance, charecter and hope are all qualities thhe Christian wants. We have to accept that suffering is one method the Lord uses to build these. Remember that when we endure suffering we also give strong evidence that our faith is genuine (1 Peter 1:6,7) (James 1:2-4).
Sometimes Suffering is a result of sin. Romans 3:23 says "for all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God" It can be very possiable that God is always correcting us for our sins. Yet there is comfort even in this because the LORD IS TRYING TO BRING HIS CHILDREN BACK TO HIMSELF. This correcting is not evidence that God dosent care, rather it is evidence that He does care!. Hebrews 12:7 says "endure hardship as disapline, God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?".In vrs 11 we read "no dicipline seems pleasent at the time, but painful. later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousnes and peace for thoes who have been trained by it.
And I would have to say "sin" is sometimes the reason for suffering, but as Christians we must be careful not to accuse others of some unseen sin when they are suffering, this is what Job,s friends did. But when we are undergoing suffering , pain or sickness we should examine ourselves to see if there is any unconfessed sin.
Psalms 119;71 says "it is good for me to be afflicted so that I MIGHT LEARN YOUR DECREES!". Sometimes God may bring hardship or whatever to bring us back to the basics. Suffering is not fun, but it does make Gods word more precious and real to us. Remember Beloved in Philippians 1;29 "For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him" also in 3;10 it says I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS!". Dont forget that we as servants are no greater than our Master.
Dont forget Job suffered greatly, and was restored to God, yet we see no evidence at all that he found out why he went through those trials. So if it be sickness, death, or hardship dont forget beloves that we live in a sin cursed world and we as Christians will be broken at times, but we may not know why this side of heaven. Does God heal? he sure does, And if healing never comes about, I know as Paul states, that when I am weak then I become strong.....Lord bless
