I have all the new electronics in, the radar arch installed now I need to add a second battery. The boat is already wired for the elctronics and on board systems with the original battery. I want to add the battery for the motor only. I have the perko multi switch already installed. All I need to do is set the new battery and run the wire to the number two spot on the switch Right????? then run the cable from the motor to the + side of the battery and ground to the grounding bar right??. After everything else I have done can it be just that simple.... or am I really missing the boat on somthing.

:help:

not quite, You need to run a cable from each battery + terminal to the #1 and #2 posts. The engine + battery cable goes to the common post.Engine ground goes to a negative battery post with a jumper cable tying the two grounds together. This will allow you to charge each battery with the main engine. You need to manually select the battery you want to draw off or charge or leave it on both.
