I got bored last week trolling herring, and I happened to have my cutthroat rig with me, and I tried it in downtownish Nehalem. No luck. I have caught them there before, right behind the island.

Ive caught them as far up as Cook Creek in the past by June 2. Using flies and spinners.
But they can sure be closed mouthed when they want to!!
