Got a report from a friend who fishes Drano Lake. He said that Saturday was "hot", but it shut off Sunday morning. They normally begin fluctuating the water levels around then, to prepare for Monday morning power use, I guess.
Anyway, he got one early Sunday morning. He's using the bait shrimp (not sand shrimp!!) suspended under a bobber. I don't know any of the specifics, but I'm planning on fishing with him on Sunday or Monday to find out.
B.T.W., for Oregon fisherpeople, if you've never fished for steelhead at night, you're missing out. Having a fish yarding out line and jumping/splashing in pitch blackness is an incredible rush.
