It has been a lot of years since I used to fish the Sound with my cousin, who moved out of that area long ago. We used to fish around Anderson Is. and Johnson Pt. in the southern region. The popular tech was to drift-mooch plugcuts near the tidal rips; mostly for Blackmouth feeders, but it worked for silvers and big migrating Kings too. I will be going up there to fish and learn some more from Jeff Whitehead, possibly next week. I want to impress him with how much I know about it, so will some of you PS liprippers post some tech intracacies for that fishing. Maybe post some of the more popular areas to salmon fish on the inside waters too (not asking for the secluded secret spots mind you). - I also remember fishing around Widbey Is. when I was real young, but not much about it. Except one funny incident. My second Unc was one of those funny guys that just seemed to always have something happen to him when fishing. We were trolling for silvers in that area with just simple plugcuts and banana weights, not having much success. So he wanted to impress us with his "trick" setup that would start getting us some bites. My bros and I were novices so watched intently as he spent a long time showing us how to rig up double "Cow Bells" attractors (said it worked better than dodgers). After spending all this time rigging this up and then showing us his best herring hookup, he proudly dropped his killer rig over the side of the boat and calmly watched it sink into oblivion; he had forgotten to hook the whole thing up to his mainline. Just shook his head while we did the "lmao". Still comes up when we see him of course. Thanks for any insight guys. - RT
