has anyone had any luck fishing for sturgeon on the Skagit River lately? if so, what did you use for bait and where did you fish. is this a good time of year to fish for them.

I haven't fished there for them FS, but I'd bet that they would bite on most of the usual baits. Check bait regs first. Try some sandshrimp laid right on the bottom in the deeper slower holes.

Speaking of sturgeon. My cousin gave me some smoked sturgeon he caught right below the Astoria Bridge on a charter. They used herring right on the bottom. Caught lots and all got their limits releasing the extras.
