i am sorry to see this and hope you will return soon. this is why i backed out of the discussions, i saw myself as a negative influence and saw that as detracting from the real purpose of the ng.

while some of the discussions are interesting and everyone has a unique and interesting perspective, in the end, the debates do detract from the hope and support that people come here to get. i understand however that many people enjoy the debates as a way to help think their way through their own religious codes and that is nice too. maybe a ng for support, help and prayers and a second for nice respectful debate and discussion?

I too am sorry to hear this, but I very much enjoy the discussions from people with different perspectives, there are several people on this board that always get me thinking, rimrock, firecat, wildhen and fishinwithhim, just to name a few, I very much believe that honest, open and respectful debate is good and healthy,I hope to see you back soon. :flowered:

Please take me with you DAB!

I've tried to refrain, but I just can't. I would love to discuss how the Old Testament comes together in Christ, or how God works in our lives, something positive and uplifting. I even tried to start a positive thread. But then someone goes on the attack, and I don't feel right unless I am "Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you." (1Pet3:15) So I've done that. Perhaps God will take it and do something with it. Now it's time to move on.

Here is my :twocents: as if it matters. :jester: I find it kinda funny why folk worry about how stuff should be this way or that. Someone says I this anoher I that. IMO if ya want to honor the God of your path ya dont worry about what you think things should be. Should the hunting board only be about ducks? If ya want prayer cool if ya want to talk about something else cool. I think all agree ya got to be friendly as ya can be and this board really does that 99%. I know someones gonna say the board was meant for this or that and work to make it that way because of whatever reason.

If friendly discssing shows a spitural path for someone doesn’t that help “each other along the way”? If prayer posts help “each other along the way” isn’t that good to. Wouldn’t ya think both honor God. I would love to hear what happybrew has to say about the OT but we don’t want to let him?????? Hows that honor God. Dudes why make us pick. That be control in my book not freedom. I thought God was about freedom.

Ya know I really think newfly said it well to. And I own him a apology I wasn’t real nice in some PMs and way out of line, so Im sorry Im glad your back I hope you stay. IMO we all need to stop worrying about the other cat and talk openly, pray if thats your gig above all continue to do it kindly we all have other deals and different personel paths to God. Lets not pick only one.

There I really get my :twocents: in

Taking some time can be a good thing. I believe we all need this from time to time. Come back when you’re fresh and ready to go. We’ll be eagerly awaiting the time. :smash: :smash: :smash: Make it a VERY short LOA.

Blessing to you Brother!

Hey Brother I agree with you wholehearted I have not been active on the chapel for that very reason I still pray for the people that need the prayer and praise God when need be but with all the bickering and discussions that just do not Honor the God of the bible it is just not worth the read some times. rp

very true rimrock. sometimes we all need a break.

and bjs, thanks for the comments but i have enjoyed watching you in the discussions. you have an interesting thought process. you owe me no apologies whatsoever. all i would ever ask is that you be yourself.

there is however a large part of me that is very sad about DAB leaving, even if only for a break. clearly, he is bothered by some of the discussions and i feel bad about that. i certainly understand that a place as profound and as personal as this means something different to everyone, but to me it should first be a peaceful place of comfort and retrospect. say what you will about the bible or about God or about your religion, in the final analysis it all comes down to how you live your life everyday. that is what matters and i guess it is that upon which i like to dwell at the end of each day. to energize myself for the next day and to think about where i have not been who or what i should have been so that i don't repeat my mistakes. it is from that frame of reference that i come here and read what you all say. it is from that frame of reference that i feel bad that this place caused dissonance for DAB. i feel partly responsible for that from my earlier "arguments". i feel like i put my concerns before those of his and took something from him that was important to him. i do not feel good about that.

never the less i also know that it is necessary for man to discuss those beliefs that have such a huge bearing on his existance. you can not always avoid conflict when you do that. the beliefs are too strong and our need to understand too basic. as i said, i enjoy reading the discussions and seeing how everyone else handles the information. if you are not in a rush to judgement but rather in a rush for information, it is easier to accept views that may seem to conflict with your own.

DAB you have one of the softest hearts toward God that I have seen , you always pray for everybody without judgement and nearly never enter into debates. You have unwavering convictions and I understand how you are feeling. I work with a guy who uses the Lords name in vane on a continual basis and it really used to bother me a lot, I even told him one time that I wished he wouldn't talk that way about someone that I loved. Then one day I came to the realization that it probably bothered me a whole lot more than it bothered God. I had the feeling that God was telling me " don't worry I can handle this, I was nailed to a cross for crying out loud" Anyway Don , I will be praying for you and I won't allow you to stay away long , Because your Light shines bright my Brother and we need your Light !!!

I'll miss you guys. Don't stay gone for long. Here's a perspective. You guys are like pillars here in the Chapel. Just do what I usually do. Participate in prayer requests, and in things that edify. Leave the rest. God will be honored.

Just havin’ so fun with ya all  Hey one thing is ya’ll are gettin’ tooooo serious. If ya spend soooo much time worring about the other cat that means ya can lose focus on other needs and only worry about your own. There are lots of different needs don’t worry sooooo much. :flowered:

Worrin’ makes ya bicker about bickerin’. Yea I know ya folk that were here when the chapel opened are diggin’ in your heals worring about staking out your ground but ya can discourage new people comin’ in like me and Bartman cause you are worring about your needs. Thats natural I do that myself. Thats why ya read ONLY what ya want ignore the rest and as long as the discussions are nice someone just might learn something and wouldn’t that be encouraging to.

Dont get soooooo serious, relax IMO this really goes for the original folk as well as people comin’ in. Staking out ground is about as devisive as it gets speaking about being devisive. Spirtual paths and spiritual needs are all different as well as spiritual questions. Freedom is a go thing ya know.

Hang in there Don, I know what you are going through. It took almost a year for me to pop in here again and even to this day it's very limited. I pray for those that need it and will be praying for you my friend.

Blessings,
Keith

ps - and you too happybrew, I will never forget our converstations and how you helped me and my family. It's still tough, I never thought full time ministry would be this hard but maybe this is why so few do it. No matter what, God does provide as long as we remain faithful

Don, for me personally it got to the point where I only check in once or twice a week. Don't need any additional frustration but like you said there are a lot of us that need prayer. Lord bless
