I have a '99 23' super vee. The other day I took it out flipped on the bilge pump and got nothing. The light comes on the rocker switch but no pump. All the other switches/pumps work. How do I start trouble shooting this? Where exactly is the BP located? Do I need to remove the floor? Is it wired to the fuse block? It has alwas worked fine until the other day. No sputtering or intermittent problems. Leads me to believe it's something to do with wiring or a fuse somewhere. Can someone help me out ? I'm not sure where to start. Thanks a bunch.

If its the factory BP,be prepared to replace it. Alumaweld puts crappy BPs in their boats. I had to replace the BP in my 2003 SuperVee after about 6 months. Its located right in front of the drain hole.
Trace the wiring from the switch. It should run down one corner of the transom, under the floor and into the bp. There's going to be a splice in the line somewhere. Alot of times, the connectors will erode/oxidize and you'll loose power. I've had this happen on several boat over the years.

Thanks for the tips guys. I have a guide transom, so it's a little difficult to trace wires and such. When I look right in front of the drain hole I can see the float switch but the back half of it is under the floor. Is this typically connected to the BP itself or is it a seperate unit. Also I can move the float up and down and when it gets to the up position the light on my rocker switch comes on, so I know that part of things is working.

First, check out all electrical connections and fuses. Wiggle everything around. Lotsa times, it's that simple. replace fuses to double check.
BPs are no brainers. Read the instructions. They are that simple. Take out the floorboards in the back of the boat, probably in front of the guide transom. If yours are under the guide transom(pain to access), I would move them til they were easier to reach.
