I thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful sunny day up on Seattle's L. WA. this morning. Jeff Whitehead & I got 5 sockeyes in about a half day's fishing, keeping 3 of them. I'll let Jeff tell you about his unique release methods on the other 2 fish, and a couple of other released items too (if he wants http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ). Three were on red double hooks and 2 on black ones. The fishing was better on yesterday's opener, but still plenty good. And should remain a good prospect Thru July and into early August. If I can figure out my new cheap digital cam & pic posting tech.s tonight or tomorrow or..... I will add pics of the fish and Lake, as well as a closeup pic of Bill Gates' waterfront mansion. I wanted to go knock on his door and ask him how to more effectively run my PC/software, but Jeff didn't want to risk any holes in his boat! - Steve

Glad to hear that you were able to come up here and enjoy some our Sockeye's. This is a fun and easy fishery to put a lot of fish in the freezer. The word yesterday from the state counter was 1.6 fish per person. I asked about raising the limit and he said we should get the 6 fish daily limit in about 3 weeks. They are waiting for the angler effort to drop off then bring it up.

HOT bite again today (Thur) took longer to put in than to limit out !!! I ran one down rigger with a black box and one without. We had 6 bites with and 2 with out so it must help. One more time fri then off to the Skeena for the biggggg boys.

Why is it so often hot the day before or after I go? Most boats were scratchin to find biters Wed. One of our 2 downriggers broke down right out of the gate yesterday and the the DR w/ black box hooked 4 and the banana sinker 1. Hmmm. Btw, those socks taste great! - RT

I have used a downrigger before, but I don't know what a "black box" is. Can you tell me what you are talking about?
