I'm gonna help a friend put Coat it on the bottom if his new Willie Drift Boat. How much will it take the first time? Should we do 2 coats with curing time in between each 1?
Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike:
I have done my Willie (16 x 54) twice. It takes about one hour to flip my boat over, tape and apply. It will take much longer to cure if it is cold. I have done my boat in the summer (in the morning) and by the late afternoon it is fully cured. If a garage is an option...you could keep a heater on under the boat to raise the temperature.

if your going to use coat-it just on the bottom 5X5 (or so) area (where the bottom sits in the water) one can will do. But if your interested in doing the whole bottom, you'll need two cans. I also think two coats are better than one. Make sure you follow directions completly, especially the stiring. Don't ask me how I know :hoboy:
I did the whole bottom on my 17x54 Willie last summer.
I bought a gallon and used half of it. The gallon is not full but I think it is sold by the weight. I will put the rest of the gallon on next summer. It works good!!!!
It took 2 days to harden and it was very warm out and under my carport.
Make sure you mask off the sides or you will get drips and they are not fun to remove.
You are going to have a problem in this temp. if you don't have any heat to it.

Thanks. We're gonna do it in a heated hanger and put a space heater under it to keep it about 75 or so.
