I have a merc 4 st outboard with a merc throttle control. On the control is a lever that says to lift to increase the idle speed. when I lift the lever, nothing happens. I am wondering if the control was hooked up when the boat was rigged. Any ideas? :shrug:

You probably need to apply more pressure, they move about 2-3 inches before you feel resistance. I tell people to raise it till you feel resistance then go another inch.
