StefanZ was kind enough to let me tag along with him to the Tenmile open last year, my first tourney since Baxter took me out as a kid. It was a blast and I have been trying to stock up on tackle ever since. I printed out my membership to ABA and plan on mailing it in soon, and I am saving up for a boat. So until then I am just trying to prepare for when I can enter as a boater, and if anyone needs a non-boater for some opens etc. just let me know!

I will be fishing some ABA tournaments as well as some opens. Frostbite, bassin 4 bucks, Crane Prarie for sure but maybe some other opens. Frostbite is almost here! Feb. 18 at Tenmile, should be a good turnout this year since it is a permitted tournament in conjuction with the Osprey Point big fish tournament. I like having two tournaments on the same day and you can fish either one or both!

How does a guy go about getting into tournament fishing? Are open club tournaments the way to start?

Find the club in your area - try going to http://www.oregonbassfederation.org/
Clubs always encourage new members, with or without a boat. Make it to a meeting and sign up and you'll be on your way. Good luck~

I fished the "Cabin Fever Classic" in March last year and it was a blast. We actually had great weather that time last year and the bass where VERY active. We had a limit by 6:45am...small one though but a limit!!
This year it is Sunday, March 19th at Willamette Park.

Hey bassfishingnw, I was at the weigh in of the Cabin Fever Classic last year. Here are some pictures of the fish that were brought in that day.

Anyone looking for a partner for the cabin classic? I would love to fish this but don't have a boat. Been fishing on the willy now for about 8 years and normally do very well.
I met the guy in the pic (wearing the triton shirt) at the sportsmen show on saturday, when I was looking at the new skeeter 190sl, great guy! Just can't remember his name though. :help:
