I just took the boat out for the trial with the prop on it and I am really amazed at the difference. I knew it would be much better than w/ the pump, but I was still amazed.
22' Intruder w/ RMV 14* hull
Yamaha F225 w/ Yamaha Saltwater Series 15 1/4 x 19 prop.
80 Gal of fuel + Driver
Max speed over ground = 56 mph @ 5900 rpm & 17.5 gph
Cruising speed was a comfortable 30 mph @ 6.5 gph
Time to plane was about 3 seconds!!!
I was also pleased with the difference in the ride. There was a 2' chop on the exposed part of the lake and at about 40 MPH the boat stopped pounding and just rode over the top. This was not possible with the pump.
Now I can't wait for some good days out on the salt!!!
Cheers!
