I run a big four-stroke Yamaha and a kicker Yamaha outboard on my sled. FOr a couple years I got great service from North River when they had their service done in their shop in Clackamas. After they moved their service business out to the Willamette River service has been unreliable. Who do folks like in the greater Portland area.
Thanks,

I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with every Yamaha wrench within 60 miles of my house. NR is head and shoulders above the competition. So much so, that I would be happy to haul it the 45 miles to Aurora instead of the 5 minutes down the road to another much less than stellar certified Yamaha mechanic.

Jerry in vancouver. He was the west coast service manager for Yamaha for 5 years. He did most of the service training for new dealerships and has inside pull for getting issuses relsoved. Did I mention that when Yamaha came to the U.S., the dealer he works for was among the frist 10 in the country to sell the product. Jerry was there then, went to work for Yamaha and came back. Since The dealer is not a Ifish sponser I will not list it.

I don't know if they're any good or not but Browns Landing works on Yamaha I believe.

I recognize that service providers change as mechanics come and go. Sometimes you can just have a bad experience and the boat that comes in after you gets great service.
Having said that, I've also tried everyone from Brown's Landing to Vancouver to Salem through the years on the four Yamaha OBs I've owned and received adequate service for regular maintenance for most things. But Flatfish, with all due respect, I wouldn't drive across the street to let those guys in Aurora work on my Yamaha motors again. You've been living life right, I hope your luck continues.
I've also had good luck with the "unnamed" dealer in Vancouver a while ago. I'll give Jerry a call.
Thanks all

Those jokers didn't want to sell me a Yamaha OIL FILTER because my Dad didn't purchase the motor from them. After I calmly explained that whoever I talked to on the phone not an hour earlier said that they would the guy relented and sold me one (I wanted two). He said that it must have been one of the shop guys and as soon as I paid he told that they wouldn't do that again and not to ask. :hoboy:
Clements Marine = NO $'s from me ever again. :smash:
