Dont get me wrong, I am all for a rally at Cascade Locks. Any opportunity to further the rights of the sports fisherman is a good thing. What I cannot believe is a posting from yesterday on this bulleting board by "Wisdom" is removed this morning. You may not agree with what Wisdom had to say, but he made a statement that did make sense. Just because you didnt like it, doesn't make it wrong. Right now I am really turned off by this bulletin board for removing a valid non offensive opinion. We all have a right to speak our opinion (just not here I guess). If further censorship of non offensive items occur on this BB I will no longer visit it. Go to your rally by yourself.

I wish I had read the posting closer. I purposely signed on this morning to reread the posting, because I had not decided if I agreed with it. As I recall 2 points were made, The one slips my mind, The other was that the people who are making the decesions are not really as powerfull as they think and are only following policies and procedures which are dictated to them. My guess is it must have been taken by somebody to mean the Rally would do no good. We have seen the jostle between RT and Wisdom in the Columbia Closure posting. As I recall their was a statement made something about "looking forward to seeing more of your nose around here" give or take a paraphrase. I guess that may not apply here. Unification is what the sport fisherman lack to accomplish a cause. I strongly disagree in censorship which just breeds a lack of unification by its nature. Maybe the posting will show up again so I can finalize my opinion on it.

RT - Board ****
Just because you're the moderator of this board does not mean you can play God with other people's posts. You don't like what someone has to say? That's their opinion and they are entitled to it! Deal with it!
I cannot believe what you did in response to Wisdom's post. He was the only individual to post a disagreement with the rally and you had to delete his post! That's censorship at it's finest! Wisdom did not use any profanity. He simply made a valid point and he did so in a very polite and professional manner.
Your reason for deleting Wisdom's post?......
"due to one individual's very unfairly negative reply post about this rally- for unknown motives (I hope there isn't need to deal with that uncalled for type of posting on this BB again). Everyone else has been very supportive and eager to get after it!"
Hey RT, that part about "Everyone else has been very supportive," well that's just everyone who has posted. I bet there are a lot of silent readers out there who are not in support of your rally. For instance ME! I view your rally as Anti-Indian. For the first time in history, the Native Americans aren't getting screwed! You're ****** off because they get to harvest fish and you don't. You want the fish you "paid" for? Why don't you wait until the season is over and maybe they'll have some surplus salmon at the hatchery to give to you!
This post is probably a waste of time because once RT reads it, he will censor it too!

Mike I have to dissagree with you. This is NOT an anti-Tribe protest as I see it. RT has some very credible points. There is an inequity with fish allocation. We as sportsmen foot the bill more than any other user group, This is undeniable. To want an equitable share, if there is an abundance, is not unreasonable. We, more so than the Tribes, get "screwed" on fish allocation...Once again not Tribe bashing, just stateing a fact......My 2 cents....

Barnyard,
If this isn't an Anti-Indian protest, why do you have to protest near where the Native Americans are selling their salmon? A protest FAR from Native American activity would be a more intelligent choice. Hell, I'd even support such a protest.

censorship...,,, is wrong,,i heard a saying once, it went somthing like this.. i may not believe in what u r saying, but i defend ur right to say it. now with that , let me say this. thier was only one perfect man, and his name was JESUS... we are not perfect we will and do make mistakes. all of us, but before u log off this b.b. give it a chance.if mistakes have been made , we are all intligent enough to learn from them with out hurting ourselves , by loosing or damaging this valuable information site..we all have very strong feelings about what is happening, and are not always going to agree.well good luck , and tight lines to all ....

I don't know how the location was decided upon, I would imagine TV would have something to do with it. I will agree if it turns into Tribal bashing we will look the fool. If however the protest is over allotment, and can be presented as such, it could be effective...

I deleted my post thread, which takes out all posted replys, due to it having become a pi**ing match distractive to the original intent. Also, Wisdom's last post, at 11:22 p.m. at night, had a very derogatory sentence about a prominent Native American in it. I made the judgement that it was best to delete the thread later that night. I don't believe in blatant censorship w/o due cause. - Steve

In the couple of months that I have been reading and imputing comments to the various boards here and in Washington (Bob's, NWFishing,Steelheader.net, etc..) the things that really stand out and make an impression on me are the well articulated input that many people contribute. The offhand personal slams are usually based on lack of knowlege and half truths and are quickly forgetten. We (the sportfisherman) have a wonderful oportunity to share tips, thoughts and feelings within these forums. If we do that in a constructive manner as if we are having a face to face conversation and treat each other with the respect and courtesy that we all deserve we can then have our own opinions about what are very heated and passionate issues and at times agree to disagree. I feel that both Wisdom and RT have very valid points and think that they just got caught up in "the heat of the moment". We all do that, let's keep sharing, being different and divergent, but above all keep posting. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
