RT, does one need to be licensed in WA to guide the wind (outside of the river mouth). Since you have to have a WA angling license i'm assuming you do but not sure... Joe

I am glad that you brought that up because there are a lot of oregon guides fishing there that do not have washington guides stickers.

Hi Joe- You would need a Wash. Guides lic. to take clients for hire at the mouth of the Wind R., just as Oregonians need an out of state lic. to angle there or elswhere in Wash. - My own opinion: there are a few guides working among the throngs of anglers and tangled lines at the mouth of the Wind area. Even though they have expanded the zone, the actual productive deeper slots are still quite limited for the hord of boaters there. For guides that need to get their clients into fish, they will have to constantly dodge erratic trolling patterns by "challenged" boaters, tangled lines, and fight the constant windy/choppy conditions to be in the bite (tougher for high sided boats with the top up). It would be similar to the crowd of backtrollers by the "Lakeline" at O.C. only instead of all boats pointed the same direction it is more like the bumperboat rides by the Bridgetender at Seaside with boats going in every direction! Can be fun for buddies with a sixpack, but a headache for the guide and less than a pristine experience for paying clients. Just my .02 cents worth. - Steve

After fishing Friday and Saturday there, I can't imagine having 4 paying clients in my boat, and having to keep calm and get them into fish while dodging the "boating challenged" in their assortment of boats. As it appeared, there were few guide boats out there....I know I'd find somewhere else!
