I want to get in on the bluegills when they move to shallow water. When is the best time of the year to see them begin to spawn? That is Silver Lake (Cowlitz County)

The spawn is June 11th. It is on the full moon. The gills will be shallow. do you know some location of the spawning grounds? Do you have my Silver lake map?

I wish I could go catch the big gills, but if I want to catch nice size gills I have to go to Hagg. With crappies when do they spawning?

coppies spawn in the lilly pad stems or brush piles and tree tops in about 3 to 8 feet of water in the warmest prats of the lake

I've only fished Silver Lake a couple times. My family went up there when I was a teenager and camped with my aunt & uncle. My uncle brought his boat, I took my float tube. Saw a bunch of guys fishing in bass boats. I fished the lilly pads near one of the campgrounds via float tube. We fished the same pads from the boat. I remember getting the crap skeered out of me when a big ol carp came up right next to my tube. I was just scanning the water and all of a sudden this GIANT black object appeared to my left, then the sun hit it and showed gold. Bout pooped myself. Had a lot of fun fishing that lake - I was pretty new to flyfishing then, so I didn't do horribly well. Did great on worm dunking though. Caught some nice crappie that way. I'd love to go back up there again, but I need a boat first.
