A buddy and were trout fishing today in a pond we know has Bullgill in it, Catchem all the time in the summer. My question is where'd they go? You can almost see the bottom in all of the pond. We use bait on the bottom and can't even catch one incidentaly. Any one have any idea's.

blue gill are all about depth and wood in thew winter. you might ba able to find them on deep weed lines if the lake is shallow you can find them in the warmest part of the lake.fish slow and deliberate, if you find one you will find all of them. they usealy take the smallest bait you can throw.if you think your fishing to slow your fishing to fast. winter gill are lazy they don't want to chase any thing.look for anything different one tree in the weeds, one spot that has rock and weeds or some wood. if your willing to work for them you'll find them. abd if you want to take me i'll show you some stuff i learned back east.

Ya I got spoiled in Indiana we wouldn't keep any that didn't cover you intire streched out hand. I may take you up on that but would like for the weather to warm a bit. I have a hard enough time sticking it out for "steel" much less these guy's I can't seem to find. I did catch a nice about 23 inch 4 pound golden trout that was fun
