Float and Fly for smallies ???

Has anyone tried it here in the winter in our Resevoirs? Did you have success. I am curious because as soon as the water clears in Foster I want to try this technique on the smallies there. I have never used this method but it should work.

What kind of fly patteren are you thinking of using?

They are actually fly jigs made with hair almost the same as a steelhead jig and you suspend it under a bobber with 8 to 12 foot of leader.

I've had a modicum of luck with it on the John Day while going after steelhead with Mark's jigs.
