Fresh oysters on N. Coast

Where is the best place that is closest to Hillsboro that has realy fresh oysters but the bushel? I usually buy some on my way back from the Rogue Bay down around Coos Bay and keep them on ice in the cooler to eat right when I get home. I was thinking of some fresh oysters but where to get them? I have been to Willapa bay too but, that is a little bit of a drive too. Where are the local oyster beds? Are there any avalable out at Netarts?

theres a place in hillsboro you can get them as well as live crab live steamer clams and a bunch of asain food one wouldnt wont to eat and at fair prices

Try Pearl Point oysters on 1802 1st Street in Tillamook (503-842-7844). If you like raw oysters, call ahead and reserve extra smalls.

These oysters are from Netarts Bay and usually are nice and salty. Quality varies from month to month, but these usually are the best oysters available in Tillamook County. You shouldn't be disappointed.

There's a great oyster house upriver in Newport. They furnish the oysters to Louies in downtown Portland.
When in Newport we always stop there to fill our cooler.

Oh yeah, we never go to Tillamook without a stop a Pearl Point's store (next door to where Kimmels used to be :depressed:). Ask for the Kumamoto variety, they are to die for.

if you know where IZZY is at in hillsboro its right by there I beleave it is baxters auto parts the place is right behind them. i beleave he said the oysters he gets come out of tillimook and the crab are out of alaska at times he's also will have live shrimp, lobster

There's a guy at the Hillsboro farmers market (Saturday in downtown) that has Netarts bay oysters. He brings his daughter and they sell out of coolers.

Got some pettites last fall and they were spectacular. Salty and very nice flavor.
