I posted these questions on the top water thread and no one answered them.

How big?
What colors?
How fast are you dragging it?
Has anybody trolled a buzz bait in the morning or evening along the shore?

An interesting thing I noticed when I was using a spinner bait in a local pond one evening was that I wasn't getting any hits until I tried bringing it up and hitting the surface with it. Bass started hitting it right after the blade hit the surface. I didn't have a buzz bait to try at the time.

First off as far as speed you want to reel just fast enough to keep it on the surface. You don't want to get in the habit of really burning it across the surface. Only colors you need are black and white or maybe chartreuse. I use 1/4oz size and have never tried trolling one. Also recomend adding a trailor hook.

What Codfish said! 90% of my buzzers are black or black & blue.

Is this true because of low light? Do other colors work better when the sun has just come up?

Its easy for them to outline against the sky.

Get some braided line, toss that buzzer WAY back where you shouldnt, and bang it into as much stuff as you can. Fun times
