I know indicator posts can be like talking politics, so all those traditionalists out there...I am sorry. But I was wondering if anyone has tried the Frog Hair Ultimate reusable indicators. Are they any good? I like the idea of no toothpick to lose or tangle.

I used them and didn't like them. Before using them I used indicators w/ a little rubber insert that made them removable and movable. The Frog Hair ones are tough to get on steelhead size leader and also can only be used until the stoppers (one time use only) are all used up. They are also move expensive than most indicators.

I've used the larger versions for steelhead/salmon. They have worked fine for me, but like Clacksteel says, they are tight on a heavy leader.

They are also expensive.

A size four corky can be purchased for 10 - 15 cents and works fine with a toothpick. Fisherman's Marine sells a small foam indicator float for 20 cents that is removeable.

I been using them for a year for steelhead and trout. I think they are the greatest thing ever. You will need to use a new leader more often as the rubber stoppers are tough to get over knots and 30# mono. Once you are past the tippet section of your leader it's tough to get the stoppers on.
