So here I am home from work sick. Can only sleep so much, read so much, so why not surf the net ? Ticked off since I won't be at the gathering tonight. First, let me say I've been shopping rods for my wife who wants to try FF for salmon and that I buy made in USA whenever possible, but don't want to spend a bundle on this. Well, here I am minding my own business cruising the the various fly sites when I come across a Scott S3s on consignment. The cost is less than 1/2 what a new rod costs so I give the shop a call, skeptic that I am. Turns out this rod has never been fished, not even dirt on the cork from any practice, pristine. So now, in few days, I'll be the owner of said rod. I figure I win either way. Best case, my wife loves salmon fishing and we have more to share (hence more time to fish), worst case it's not for her and I have a Scott S3s as a back up rod.
I'd rather be lucky than good :yay:, but I'd much rather not be sick  and still get this rod
