I've been out of town for awhile now, and by the looks of things on the fly board noone but andy is catching any fish!

Is anyone doing anygood, or are we all just too busy to fish because we're too busy tyin flies?

Most of the rivers have been blown out and they are now dropping back into shape. It should get good soon.

Bad news, the rivers are back being high and muddy! I had a good day on the river yesterday. I should have fished longer while the fishing was good....

Why does AndyK catch a lot of fish? For one thing he had the determination to go fishing this morning! :shocked:I, on the other hand, was suited up and ready to put the spey in the truck at 6:00 am but chickened out. :noway: The river I was headed to was at a marginal height already and the chart was heading up. Turned out to be a good decision because the river was blown by noon.

That's been the story for quite awhile. Since the high water arrived, I have been fishing three times with only one steelhead to show for it. The rivers were finally in decent shape yesterday but I had committed to a golf game. The fishing was excellent earlier in the season with the low clear water and ice in the guides until the afternoon.

So far today, neither the Sandy nor Eagle Creek have blown out. I might have to violate my no fishing on weekends rule because I am way past my need where I must wet a line. When I was a member of the OFC, Eagle Creek was very productive for me. I can't seem to catch much on the public waters, and I am too old for the canyon hike up and down, up and down...

hey i am totaly new to the area. when you guys are talking about Eagle Creek is it the one up by the Bonniville Dam? I went hiking there in Nov. and it was absolutly full of cohos' (i think). I wasn't sure if you could even fish there. If so it would be amazing. just trying to learn the area. Once i can afford to by a license, I am going to need a partner.

Eagle Creek on the Clackamas system, located near Estacada. It has a winter steelhead run and a fall coho run.

I drifted the the Sandy today. Nada. It looked good when we put in, but was looking a little brown by 10 am.

When I have had time to get out the rivers have been blown out so I've been gathering feathers (duck hunting :smash:) on those days for this years tying .
