Here are some details:

Model 116 , 3 PC, overall L = 9', Green Cloth Case w label partially readable, alu case. I also found a Edwards No. 30 reel with the rod.

Again, thanks for all the help with understanding what I have.

Initial post below:

In with some of my Dad's stuff. Looks to be a 5-6 wt, 3 pc with 2 tip sections and alu case. Nothing fancy. Anyone know the history or background for this brand? I can post some pics.

Thx in advance.

Jim

Yes please post some pictures. I can probably get some info for you from a bamboo rod forum I belong to.

Tomictime: The Kingfisher rod was made by Montague until WWII. After that, they were made by Heddon (A very respectable brand)#8model. On the flat above the hande it would say #103 (Heddon model only). So it appears to be a cheaper rod, but usable. I personally have never liked Montague, but hear they are pretty good in the 8' sizes. Heddon is another story! This model was there #8. (Lowest grade for Heddon) Might as well try it out just for fun and nostalgia or is that Noralgia!
Good Luck
Dave
