Hey, y'all

I haven't been here in quite some time...

I've been given an opportunity to go Bass fishing in Tennessee during the last week of May. We will be fishing around the Nashville area. We will fish mostly for small mouth, large mouth, and at night, possibly cats.

Anybody been there and done that? What equipment should i take? What am in for?

Thanks in advance.

What type of fishing are you used to? Spinning or baitcasting ? For the Bass most anything that you can cast that you'd use here for steelhead is sufficient. But for catfishing it depends on where your going those catfish get big in the Tennessee River we used to catch them on mussels in the 40-60 lb range.

Might want to ask that over on the warm water board.

Uhhhhhhhhh...this is the warm water board.

Take lots of Yamamoto Senkos in 3", 4" and 5". Green pumpkin will do fine....#297, I think. I bet they'd catch catfish, too. C&R, Steve

I'd take a little of everything. Plastic worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, spinners, jigs, etc. Channel cats will hit about the same thing as bass or you can use bait. Your steelhead gear should work fine.

If you like to use spinning rods, you should stick with them! I would switch to 14 pound test fire line with floro. leader when fishing plasitcs and 12 test mono for R. traps, cranks and spinner baits. Have fun down south! good luck!!!!

12 or 14lb? what if the water is 'gin clear'? I've read reports that some of the water is really clean... I may need my line to disappear...
