<font color="red"> At a local lake the last couple of weeks the trout have been busting on the shad like crazy. So I need a good shad pattern to tie to increase the hits. Whats your favorite shad pattern??? The shad are 1" to 1 1/2" long . I think just white with some eyes would work well.

Thanks much

Denny Rickards in his book "Tying Stillwater Patterns" says:
Two of the most common varieties of minnows found in lakes everywhere are shiners and chubs.

Maybe these are the minnows you are seeing?

Richards has two patterns for these minnows, the Shiner Minnow and the Chub Minnow. Both use Pearlescent Mylar tubing for the body and marabou for the wing.
