I am looking for a place to introduce my daughter to fishing when it warms up. Does anyone know if the St.Louis Ponds would be a good choice? Decent bank access with some fish?
I live in Yamhill County, so anywhere within an hour or so of there would be great.
Thanks for the help.
There is good bank access. I haven't fished it in years so I have no idea how the fishing is. Your better choice might be to try Hagg Lake as it holds tons of fish and is closer to you.

Thank you, we will give it a try.
When I was fishing St. Louis ponds, it was strictly a warm water show. I think I've noticed that ODFW plants trout in it these days.

St. Luis ponds is stocked with trout on pond three in the spring, and it can be very crowded. After the water warms up the crowds go away but, there are a lot of weeds which can be a problem, but it is a great way to introduce youngsters to fishing, with all bluegill, crappie, sunfish, and catfish. There are also quite a few small bass in there, and everytime I go there I seem to see a few bass in the 3-5lb range swimminf through.
